Stand With Our Fairies: Support Families Facing Uncertainty

Dear Friend of Focus Fairies Mentoring,

As we reflect on another year, I am filled with both gratitude and urgency. Gratitude to supporters like you who make our work possible - and urgency, because the needs of the girls and families we serve have never been greater.

This year, the economic challenges facing many of our families have intensified. Cuts to essential public support systems, including reductions to SNAP benefits, school budgets, and community-based programs, have made it harder for families to cover even the most basic necessities: groceries, transportation, school supplies, and clothing. For too many of our girls, these hardships create more than financial strain; they threaten emotional well-being, academic focus, and hope for the future.

In 2025, your generosity helped us serve nearly 200 girls across 15 partner sites, expanding our reach by 65% and improving outcomes in confidence, leadership, and emotional health. But behind those numbers are real families whose challenges have deepened amid rising costs and shrinking support systems. Along with this, many of our partner schools are no longer able to provide our Focus Fairies Mentoring services in the 2025-26 academic year due to CPS funding cuts, eliminating yet another critical support system. But in spite of these challenges, we remain steadfast in our commitment to provide support, mentorship, and care to all of the Fairies in our FFM community, both past and present.

This giving season, we are asking for your end-of-year philanthropy so that we can provide direct financial support to the girls and families in our programs. With your help, we can ensure that every Fairy and her family have the resources needed to meet their basic needs.
